Indiana's International Events in June

The Nationalities Council of Indiana has released their calendar of ethnic events for June. This can be an excellent way for you to celebrate multi-culturalism in your community and share some quality time as a family. Here are some highlights:
June 7-14 Fort Wayne Germanfest at Headwaters Park in downtown Fort Wayne. More information
June 12-13 "India Ever After" performance by Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre. 8 p.m. each evening at the Pike Performing Arts Center, 6701 Zionsville Road, Indianapolis. Tickets are $20-25.
June 13 23rd Annual Indiana Highland Games and Scottish Festival in Fort Wayne. Held at the soccer fields at Concordia Theological Seminary, 6600 North Clinton Street. 9 a.m.-8 p.m. $10. It is sponsored by Scottish Cultural Society of Fort Wayne.
June 13-14 Gathering of Great Lakes Nations Pow Wow 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Sunday at Tri-State Antique Gas Engine and Tractor Grounds in Portland. It is sponsored by National Center for Great Lakes Native American Culture. For more information contact Kay Neumayr 765-426-3022.
June 27 is opening day for "Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great [Egyptian] Pharaohs" exhibit at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis, 3000 North Meridian Street. There is an extra charge for this exhibit. Also opening that day is "Take Me There: Egypt" which is included with museum admission.
July 6-August 7 Second Annual Chinese Culture Camp will be held 8:30 a.m.-4:15 p.m. Mondays-Fridays for $150/week at the Indiana University-Purdue University campus in Indianapolis. This event is sponsored by IUPUI Confucius Institute. For more information contact Nick Brasovan at 317-278-7900.
