MLJ Adoptions' Michele Jackson Recognized as a 2012 Angel in Adoption

Today, September 12, 2012 over one hundred “Angels” from all fifty states gathered at the nation’s capital to celebrate the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute’s (CCAI) Angels in Adoption program, including MLJ Adoptions very own Michele Jackson.

Angels in Adoption is a yearly event and gives all U.S. Congressional members the chance to recognize outstanding members of our communities who have enriched and made a difference in the lives of foster children and orphans.
Indiana Congressman Andre Carson congratulated Michele on her recognition saying, “Michele embodies the very best of our community. She gives without expectation of receiving, and she labors tirelessly to afford a meaningful life to those for whom it seems beyond reach. The children of our community are lucky to have such an impassioned ally.”

We here at MLJ are very proud of Michele. She has an unparalleled and unwavering focus for all those touched by adoption and pledges her time and energy to helping children in need. Her passion for international adoption is clear to all who meet her. She is an advocate for children and the families alike in the adoption process and as MLJ’s executive director, Michele definitely leads by example.

In addition to the over one hundred Angels, every year several “National Angels” whose commitment and contributions have had a national impact are recognized as well. This year’s National Angels In AdoptionTM are former Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl, singer/songwriter Josh Kelley who are the proud parents to two adopted children, Grammy Award-winning R&B singer-songwriter Ne-Yo who founded the Compound Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to supporting youth in foster care, and PEOPLE Magazine.
