Last September, I had the privilege of attending the Empowered to Connect Conference in Nashville, TN. The conference was full of insights and “ah-ha” moments. Although my daughter had been home for over a year, I had many eye opening moments listening to Dr. Karyn Purvis speak. Dr. Purvis truly understands children who have come from a “hard place” and she provides hope to every parent who is raising such a child. From bonding and nurturing to correcting behaviors, simple techniques can make all the difference in the world.
The knowledge gained and methods learned at the conference were extremely valuable. My only regret is that I wished I had attended the conference prior to bringing my daughter home. I put several of Dr. Purvis’s suggestions to practice and was amazed at how effective they were. I would highly recommend attending this conference to any parent in the midst of the adoption process, any parent who has adopted, or any parent considering adoption.
