How One Superbowl Commercial Could Help Orphans

It’s Superbowl Sunday! And while many are psyched about the actual game, just as many people tune in to watch the commercials. Do you know that the average 30-second Superbowl commercial costs 3 million dollars JUST TO AIR? Growing up I heard the cost of these commercials and just kind of shrugged them off thinking this was just the way it was. But as God has opened my eyes to the children in need around the world, now these figures make my stomach turn. What if just one of these companies chose to put that advertising money towards something greater…like the 143 million orphans around the world?

With 3 million dollars:

  • 27,397 orphaned children worldwide would be able to eat 3 meals a day for an entire year. (based on a $.10/meal average)
  • 1,200 orphans in the U.S. could have forever families. (based on $2,500 in legal fees)
  • 555 orphanages could be started in 3rd world countries. (based on these stats)
  • 100 orphans worldwide could have forever families. (based on a high estimate of $30,000 in legal/travel fees)

I don’t know about you, but I would be more than willing to sit in silence for 30 seconds during the Superbowl knowing that the children in desperate situations around the world could be fed, sheltered or better yet – have forever families.

Please join with me and post one of the above statistics to your Facebook status today in support of the little ones around the world dreaming of a family.
