Meet Mandy!

Hello! My name is Mandy Mellen and I’m the staff accountant for MLJ Adoptions International. I’ve been in my position since April of this year. As the accountant, I get to interact with all aspects of the adoption process; prospective adoptive parents, lawyers in our partner countries, and of course my co-workers.

I’m wife to Kate (a realtor here in Indianapolis), and mom to four beautiful children who we adopted through foster care. We fostered thirteen children and babies over a five-year period for the county. I spent the last six years staying home with our foster and adopted children. Now that our four are older and in school (and we’re finished fostering), it’s time for me to get back into the workforce! In my free time I enjoy gardening, entertaining, traveling, and spending time with my family.

I graduated from Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne in 2010 with a bachelors in Elementary Education/Early Childhood Education. Earlier in 2004 I graduated from Ball State University with a bachelors in Cultural Anthropology and minors in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution and Women’s Studies.  My formal education and life experience have set me up perfectly to work in international adoption! I look forward to continuing to help children find their forever homes through my work here at MLJ Adoptions International.
