On September 16, 2012, MLJ Adoptions, Inc. will be meeting at the Indianapolis Zoo at 12:00pm to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month during the Hispanic Heritage Fiesta. The Indianpolis Zoo is partnering with La Voz de Indiana to provide a fun-filled day. MLJ Adoptions, Inc. is joining in on the celebration in order to embrace the cultures of some of the international progams we offer. This event will provide attendees an opportunity to connect with other MLJ Adoption’s staff and families and celebrate National Hispanic Month while having fun at the zoo. We hope families that have or are hoping to adopt from Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Mexico will join us!
National Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans to the United States and celebrates their heritage and culture. September 15, was chosen as the beginning of National Hispanic Heritage Month because it is the anniversary of the independence of Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. These countries declared their independence from Spain in 1821.
