We at MLJ are excited that a second family is nearing completion of their adoption process in Burkina Faso! Our Burkina Faso program has exceeded our expectations with regards to transparency, ethical practices, practices for caring for children in need and waiting timelines for prospective adoptive parents. To date, three additional families have been matched with children in need and as I said, one of these children will be traveling home soon!
We are also excited about our opportunity to support vulnerable children in Burkina Faso who are not yet being adopted.
MLJ always seeks to assist countries where we serve. When traveling abroad staff will visit orphanages and provide donations to these institutions serving children in need and without a forever family. In addition to donations provided while on the ground in each country, MLJ has recently been able to begin partnering with the Central Authority in Burkina Faso to meet the needs of children who have been orphaned! Now individuals have the chance to support orphaned children in Burkina Faso by making a donation. MLJ’s donation site allows families to donate online with a credit card as well as offering other payment options.
For families, not ready to begin the adoption process, or family members who just want to donate to help vulnerable and orphaned children, MLJ allows you to do that! Donations can be dedicated to various countries and causes. Burkina Faso, Congo and Ukraine all provide options for where your money can be used. Additionally, specifying funds to be used to the General Adoption Fund, Special Needs Adoptions or donate directly to an MLJ family’s adoption.
Donations earmarked for Burkina Faso will be used for serving vulnerable children, institutions and projects of the Central Authority that serve the best interests of the children in need. The Ministère de l’Action Sociale et de la Solidarité Nationale La Direction des Placements et des Adoptions (Burkina Faso’s Central Authority) works diligently to serve the needs of its children in need who have no family. Donations used towards this country will provide funding for clothing, food, medical supplies, school supplies and various projects initiated by the Central Authority to improve the lives of the children in need of forever families and the orphanages sheltering and caring for these children.
