One of our clients reached out to us about this awesome podcast idea he had and we just had to share! It’s a great way for dads to get involved, and will be a fantastic resource and support for everyone. Below is his description of where he thinks the podcast is headed. We’ll keep you in the loop when the first episode comes out!
I am starting a podcast that will focus on the dad’s side of things. In case you are unclear, according to Wikipedia a podcast is: a type of digital media consisting of an episodic series of audio, video, PDF, or ePub files subscribed to and downloaded through web syndication or streamed online to a computer or mobile device. The word is a neologism derived from "broadcast" and "pod" from the success of on the internet. I am going this route because I figure most dads these days would be more inclined to listen to something like this rather than read it. Plus, this will be more entertaining and in this mobile world you can listen anytime, anywhere (car, gym, work, etc).
So here is the plan, ideally it will be a weekly show where in I will interview a different dad. We will talk about wherever they are in the
adoption process (just starting all the way to what it is like after they leave home). I also want the point of view of grandfathers, uncles, adopted sons or anyone else who has been affected by adoption. If for any reason you want to tell a story but remain anonymous that will be respected as well. I’m looking for all kinds of stories good, bad, and ugly. I will also highlight books, blogs, other podcasts, foundations, companies, and products that benefit adoption. My wife may have a recurring segment as well so we will also want to showcase moms as well.
There will be a Facebook page, blog, and Twitter feed to help promote this. I have all the recording equipment needed to do this and I am a musician so I am already working on a theme song. I will also feature any music (or poems and stories) anyone would like to submit if it is inspirational to the adoption journey.
So, get in touch with me if you would listen or you are interested in being on the show and/or tell people you think might have a good story to get a hold of me. Email me at
