Kathy Slaughter, LCSW

Kathy Slaughter, LCSW joined the team at MLJ in 2009 as a Home Study Coordinator. Her extensive background in community-based social work and her emphasis on family systems prepared her to work in adoption. Before becoming involved with MLJ, Kathy worked for Community Hospital as a mental health therapist. She provided both group and individual counseling to parents and children, and also spent much of her time traveling to her client’s homes to provide onsite support and evaluation.

Kathy Slaughter received her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan in 2005 and her bachelor’s in philosophy from Purdue University in 2004. She is a passionate advocate for social justice, having worked extensively in needy communities and through lay service within the Catholic Church. She lives in Indianapolis with her husband and their puppy, Zoe.
