The Nationalities Council of Indiana has released their calendar of ethnic events for July/August This can be an excellent way for you to celebrate multi-culturalism in your community and share some quality time as a family. Here are some highlights from the recent “Ethnic Hoosier” newsletter:
July 6-August 7 Second Annual Chinese Culture Camp will be held 8:30 am-4:15 pm Mondays-Fridays for $150/week at the Indiana University-Purdue University campus in Indianapolis. July 8 Conversational Spanish for Beginners 9-11:30am at the Park 100 Learning Center, 5980 W 71st Street, Indianapolis. This is the first of a six week session on Wednesday's for $139 held by the IUPUI Community Learning Network
July 9 Keep It Up: Practing your Spanish 6-8:30pm at the Propylaeum Carriage House, 150 E 14th Street, Indianapolis. This is the first of a six week session on Thursday's for $139 held by the IUPUI Community Learning Network
July 13-17 Immersion Spanish Institute: Improving Conversation 9am-4pm at the Park 100 Learning Center, 5980 W 71st Street, Indianapolis, for $459, held by the IUPUI Community Learning Network
August 14-15 African Festival at the American Legion Mall, downtown Indianapolis. This event includes tastes, fashion, and films from Africa, as well as a health fair and job fair. Visit their website or call 317.927.9777 for more information.
