n 2015, MLJ Adoptions transitioned from a for-profit to a non-profit organization. This transition benefits adoptive families and children in need of families in numerous ways. As an organization, we have started to raise money to grant to families who are adopting children with additional needs. We can also accept tax-deductible donations on behalf of our adoptive families.

According to Amazon, AmazonSmile “is a simple and automatic way for you to support your favorite charitable organization every time you shop, at no cost to you.” As a shopper, you have your choice of charities to support. To select MLJ Adoptions as the beneficiary of your Amazon shopping, go to smile.amazon.com and click “Select My Charity” at the top. You will be redirected to a page where you can search for your charity. We are listed as Mlj Adoptions International. Click “Select” and begin shopping. You only have to select your charity the first time you use AmazonSmile, from then on each time you shop, the organization of your choice will benefit. There are hundreds of organizations to choose from.
Instead of visiting amazon.com, you can visit smile.amazon.com and shop as normal. As long as you have designated MLJ Adoptions as your charity, each time you make a purchase, Amazon will donate .5% of the total to MLJ Adoptions.
With the donations that MLJ Adoptions receives from AmazonSmile, we will fund adoption grants for families seeking to adopt children with special needs. It is our desire to be able to work towards alleviating some of the financial barriers that families face throughout the adoption of a child with additional needs.
The same Amazon shopping experience you are accustomed to and all of the benefits you love follow you to AmazonSmile. If you’re an Amazon Prime member, you will still receive all your perks and as long as you’re shopping from the AmazonSmile page, your designated organization will receive a portion of your spending.
