Thanks for checking back to see the other exciting speakers that will be attending the Crossroads of America Adoption Conference. We are thrilled to introduce to you Bernie Salazar- the Biggest Loser’s season 5 At-home winner! Aside from his experience on The Biggest Loser Bernie has also appeared on NBC’s Today Show, TV Guide, dietsinreview.com, and more.

Not only does Bernie have an extensive background in health/nutrition care and television appearances, but he also has a master’s degree in education and a passion for teaching children. Through his own public transformation on the Biggest Loser, he has learned the nutritional and physical needs for a healthful lifestyle. From that experience he has gone on to write a children’s book cleverly titled “Monstercise.” The book focuses on getting children up and moving and allowing them to be creative with exercise while following along with a friendly and exercise-loving monster, Frank. Bernie wrote this book with the desire to fight child obesity and liberate children from the experience he had as an overweight child.

With close family ties to adoption, Bernie is excited to have an opportunity to speak to adoptive parents and read Monstercise to children that have been adopted. We are pleased to announce that Bernie Salazar will be teaching a course at the Conference titled “Nutrition and Adoption.” Just like it sounds, the class will focus on nutrition for adopted children, how nutrition can impact attachment, and nutrition/health for children in general.

“Monstercise” will be available at the Conference. Join us on Friday, September 30th to have the book signed by the reality star himself!
