According to UNICEF estimates, there areĀ 10.5 millionĀ orphans in Latin America. The 2012 census indicated that 6.5 million people live in the entire state of Indiana. There are 4 million more children in need of families in Latin America than there are residents in the state of Indiana. These children are the worldās most vulnerable population; without families, they lack stability, consistency, and provision. MLJ Adoptions firmly believes that every child has the fundamental right to a safe and loving family.
Adopting from Latin America has countless benefits that make it a unique experience. The proximity that American families have to Latin America makes the travel easier than when compared to other countries. This is a benefit not only during the adoption process, but also because it allows adoptive families to sustain a lifelong relationship of service to their childās birth country. The rich culture of Latin America also allows families the opportunity to bring traditions into their own homes, building respect for their childās heritage.
On April 12th, MLJ Adoptions will host its first annual Latin America Adoption Information Session. Throughout the morning, guests will have the opportunity to learn about the adoption process from Nicaragua and Mexico, hear the adoption story of two of our MLJ Families and have the opportunity to ask questions of our families and staff. Three of MLJ Adoptions international adoption programs are in Latin America and we are excited about the opportunity to share about these programs with prospective adoptive families.
MLJ Adoptions would love the opportunity to share more about the international adoption process from Latin America. To RSVP to our Latin America Adoption Information Session, please do soĀ here. If you live outside of the Indianapolis area, we would love to have you participate with us via live cast, you can registerĀ hereĀ for the live cast. We will be taking questions ahead of time and also have a question option while the session is taking place for our live cast participants.
